The Bend SharePoint User Group is your local SharePoint resource for Bend and all of Central Oregon. BendSPUG was founded in December 2008 by Jason Hamlin of Les Schwab Tires and Barb Troyer of Cinetix Solutions.
We meet monthly, usually on the 1st Friday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Venues rotate through various local businesses. We average about 20-30 attendees, depending on the time of year. Lunch and giveaways are frequently provided.
Although we occasionally have a vendor come in, presentations are generally by those in the local business community – we prefer to keep the presentations practical and useful and stay away from sales pitches as much as possible. (That being said, if you’re a vendor, and you have an engaging presentation that you think would be very interesting to our users and could be presented by a technical member of your staff, please let us know and we’ll see if it’s a good fit for the group.) We attempt to offer a good mix of both basic and more advanced topics based around the SharePoint platform and aimed at both IT pros and developers.
If you’d like to find out more, please contact Jason or Barb. We’re always looking for new speakers and venues – maybe the next speaker will be you! People often think that their project is “boring” and that nobody would want to hear about it – but presentations on how to use SharePoint to improve business processes are often very interesting to the group.
You can RSVP for the next meeting here. Unfortunately, the User Group site doesn’t support Chrome at the moment (among other issues) – you can always email us to let us know that you’ll be attending.
